About the Author
Merlin R. Carothers es capellan (teniente coronel retirado). Ingreso al ejercito en l943 y presto servicios en la Segunda Guerra Mundial en Francia, Alemania y Belgica. Pertenecio a la guardia del general Eisenhower despues de la guerra. Dado de baja en l945, asistio a la Universidad Marion (Indiana) y al Seminario Asbury (Kentucky) antes de asumir el pastorado en una iglesia metodista en Clypool, Indiana durante tres anos. Despues de ingresar de nuevo al ejercito en l953, el capellan Carothers presto servicios en alemania, Corea, Republica Dominicana, Panama y Vietnam, retirandose en l971. En la actualidad se desempena extensamente como consejero y conferenciante.

PRAISE OUR LORD, OUR REDEEMER

This book changed my worship and devotional life. My focus is now on nurturing my relationship with God, for the joy of the Lord is indeed our strength. The joy in praising, worshiping and just spending time with God turns your focus off the vicissitudes of this life. Really understanding the free gift of salvation is crucial, as it takes a whole weight off your shoulder that you have to do anything to try and please or impress God. CHRIST said, "It is finished." And it is. Simply focus on God and the work He is doing in you through His Holy Spirit who indwells you. The equation is that simple as this book makes clear: focus on God, praising and worshiping Him no matter what, whereby you would be walking by faith and not by sight. The first practical benefit is that the enemy, satan, becomes impotent in your life because you are no longer judging your life or relationship with God by things happening to you, for good or ill. You believe absolutely that no matter how things look or feel, God is working something wonderful out for your benefit because as His word says, "He who did not spare His Son...how will He not also freely give us all things." Romans 8:32. This world is not the one God planned for us; it is the one we chose. CHRIST has now rectified all that, but we must learn to wait on and trust in God and not repeat the mistake of Adam and Eve: disobedience. Brothers and sisters, let the word of God dwell richly in you...seek God with all your heart...abide in Christ the True Vine...surrender to the Holy Spirit who indwells you. As CHRIST said in John 16:33..."In the world you will have tribulation. But be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." Let's take our Savior's word for it, and call Satan's bluff when he comes with his lies and deceptions. Let's choose to believe the word of God and nothing else. "Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might." Ephesians 6:10. God bless you all.

Hallelujah!!!

This is such a great book. I have given out many copies. The wisdom in this book is something many Christians have not been taught or, like me, sometimes forget. Praising the Lord outright brings the joy of the Lord, which is our strength. We only need pray once. What do we do while we wait for our prayers to be answered? We praise! God is able to inhabit our praises and set up ambushments against our opposing forces and obstacles. And with great speed. What does the Lord need from us? Nothing. Everything he and we needed was completed by Jesus Christ. What is left? Praise. Try it. You will be amazed at how quickly the Lord is able to bring about the answers you need, when you praise IN every situation and FOR every situation.

One of The Most Powerful Books Ever

Everything Merlin Carothers wrote was powerful. When we spoke, he told me how God had taken him from a chronic grumbler to someone continuously filled with joy. At one point he even thought that complaining and pointing out everything wrong was his spiritual gift. God wasn't finished with him yet. He was not satisfied with with having a son who griped all the time about everything. God spoke to Merlin about this problem in many ways. He wanted Merlin to be happy, filled with praise and joy all the time whatever the situation. And, once this was accomplished, he was to share this joy and praise message with the world. "Prison to Praise," and "Power in Praise" were the beginning of that ministry. I could not recommend them more highly to you. They are meant to transform your life. If you read them and believe what they teach, all of which comes straight from the Bible, your life will be forever changed. No question about it.
